Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light

Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light

I am a big fan of Hourglass and when I saw the promo pictures for the new Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light my heart skipped a beat.

Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light

I was equally as excited as soon as I found out that I could pre-order the palette through the Space NK website. And finally I have this palette in my life and I have had the chance to play with it a bit so I could share my thoughts with all of you.

Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light

The palette contains 5 powders:
·             1 finishing powder in surreal light
·             1 bronze powder in surreal Bronze light
·             2 Blushes one in Surreal Glow and the other one in Surreal Effect
·             1 Highlight in Surreal Strobe light

Lets first talk about the packaging. I totally fell in love with the marble effect case and gold letters the first time I saw it. But seeing it face to face I was kind of let down by it. It looks lovely in pictures but in real life it looks to much like plastic for my taste. I think I preferred the old packaging. But to be totally honest, this isn’t a big issue for me.

The powders are better than I imagined. The quality of the powders in this palette is better in my opinion than the ones I have tried previously.

The Finishing powder in surreal light in very light, not powdery at all and leaves a lovely finish on the skin.

The highlighter is a dream, it’s the perfect subtle highlighter to wear to work, to school or simply to run errands. It´s not glittery at all and has a lovely subtle shimmer.

The blushes are adorable, my favourite one is Surreal Glow as it gives you a natural healthy flush to the cheeks. Love it!

The bronzer is also really nice, very similar to the other Hourglass bronzers, but it is quite light. I don’t think it would work if you have a tanned skin tone.

Even though I already own the the previous Ambient Lighting Edit Palette I don’t regret buying this one. The powders are very different and the blushes are better in the Surreal Edit. The palette is quite pricey retailing for £69.00 but worth it in my opinion.
Its great to travel with, great quality powder and really nice colours.

If you like the Hourglass powders you will definitely love this palette.

7 Reasons to Love Autumn

7 Reasons to Love Autumn

We are several weeks into autumn now and we can definitely feel the change in the UK. The temperature has dropped considerably and days are starting to get shorter.

reasons to love autumn

I really love the change of the seasons it feels refreshing, breaks up a bit the monotony of life, and gets you excited for new things.
In this post I would like to share with you 10 reasons why I love autumn.

1. Autumn leaves in the floor. I love walking through parks especially those that have lots of trees. I live in London, a very urban city, therefore any green spaces excite me greatly.  I just feel that walking through dry leaves is very relaxing, I love to hear the crack of the leaves as I walk past. And there is something about a park full of autumn leaves with their different shades of orange brown that I can’t get enough off.

2. Bath bombs. Bath bombs are great all year round but in summer I tend to take less baths and more showers. But as autumn arrives and temperatures drop I start to crave nice hot bubbly baths and bath bombs just take baths into a whole ´nother level.

3. Candles. Similar to bath bombs candles are things that you tend to use all year round. But again in summer I really don’t tend to light one up. Whilst im home in the summer I tend to have all the windows open to let the lovely summer breeze in. But come autumn there is nothing more cosy and relaxing that getting a nice warm blanket, turning on the TV and lighting your favourite candle. Ahh the simple pleasures in life!

4. Cosy mornings in bed. I love to stay in bed all year round but I feel that during the spring and summer I tend to get up earlier on the weekends and do stuff. But come autumn I just love to lay in bed for hours reading a book, or catching up on my favourites bloggers.

5. Burgundy nails. I mean if that doesn’t scream autumn I don’t know what does.  I have been using burgundy nail polish for years know and I still haven’t gotten bored. Burgundy nails are so classic and elegant they are an autumn must!

6. Cosy socks, cosy blankets cosy everything. There is something about putting away your summer clothes and starting to wear your autumn/winter clothes that I find so exciting. It is something to look forward to and also helps you change up your routine.

7. Halloween!! I mean enough said wright? Who doesn’t love pumpkins, dressing up and Halloween themed chocolates! Shame it only comes once a year.

I probably missed out on many things that make Autumn so exciting. Please share your reasons for loving autumn, I would love to know what you think!

Favourite Lip Combo!

Favourite Lip Combo!

Now that we are officially in autumn it is only normal to rock a berry lip. Autumn is the season on berry lips, berry nails polish, berry clothes, berry everything basically.

But unfortunately berry lips don’t always look that good on me.
But no fear! I have found the perfect substitute for that and I’m loving it!

These two babies are my perfect autumn lip pair. I just can’t get enough!
They are Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk and Mac Finally free.

Charlotte Tilbury´s lip pencil in pillow talk is a really good match for my natural lip colour. I sometimes slightly outline my lips making them look fuller and also fill them in. Great trick to make any lipstick last longer!
I really like the formula of this lip pencil, its creamy but at the same time quite solid.

Mac Finaly Free

Finally Free is actually a collaboration Caitlyn Jenner did with MAC.
I have to admit I’m not a big fan of the Kardashians (shock, horror!)
But I do love everything about this lipstick.
Firstly, I would like to mention this lipstick collaboration not only aims to bring awareness to the transgender community but also 100% of the proceeds will benefit transgender community in the UK, which I think it’s a great cause.

Apart from that the colour is so up my street, it’s a deep nude with a mauve undertone. It´s really wearable and in my opinion it’s a shade that will suit many different skin tones. It is in the cream sheen formula, it is super comfortable to wear, doesn’t bleed and fades very nicely as well.

What lip will you be rocking this Autumn?
