My Top Drawer Makeup

You know those makeup items that are complete staples and you basically use every day?
Well, today I wanted to share my most used and most loved makeup products.

Top drawer makeup

The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Cushion foundation is my favourite foundation, I have gone through 3 already.
Its just the perfect every day foundation. It leaves your skin looking healthy and glowy. It blends nicely and just leaves you looking flawless. For review click here.

Glossier brow boy

I bought the Glossier Cloud Paint in October when the brand first launched in the UK and it has quickly become a staple in my makeup routine. Love its natural finish and how easy it is to blend. Its also perfect for touch-ups as you don't need to carry a brush with you. If you want to see what Glossier haul click here.

There is not much I can say about the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara other than BEST MASCARA EVER. It has it all length, volume and curl. I love that its volumising without being too clumpy. I don't even know how many tubes I have been through. It's the only mascara I have been using since I first tried it and that was well over a year ago.

I am a huge huge fan on cream highlighters huge and by the Charlotte Tilbury Holywood light wand  has quickly made the top of the list. Hate how expensive it is and I also don't like that the tube comes half empty but the actual product is amazing. It comes with a cushion applicator making it really easy to apply without moving the makeup underneath.

I have to admit that I don't like to spend a lot of time on my brown in the morning so I love products I can just swipe on. The Glossier Brow Boy is perfect for that. What I really like about this product is that its more of a wax than a gel therefore it keeps your brows in place without making them feel crispy.

Christmas jumpers for a good cause

best christmas jumpers

The countdown to Christmas has officially started and nothing gets me more excited for the festive season than Christmas jumpers. I love them all! the cute, the tacky and the just plain weird!

But the aim of todays post isn’t just to show you a collection of my favourite Christmas jumpers, I also wanted to talk about Save the Children Christmas Jumper day. Save the Children is a charity that promotes children's rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries. Not every child is born with the same opportunities, life isn’t always fair and that is something we cannot change but we might be able to change the world for someone. By donating just £2 you can help pay a jacket and a hat to keep a child warm.

Donating is not the only way you can help, you could also organise a Christmas Jumper day on Friday 15th December at your work place, at school, in a club or even at home with your friends. By signing up to the Christmas Jumper day you will be sent a fundraising starter pack that will give you lots ideas on how to make your Christmas jumper day a success. I organized one at work last year were we all brought cakes and savoury treats and then sold them to our colleagues. Although the office was practically deserted, as it had been our Christmas party the night before, we managed to raise a £110 on the cake sale alone and had a really fun day. This year we are planning on hosting another one and we are planning to do it bigger and better.

Save the Children is not the only charity you can raise funds for, there are many great causes out there. Whichever charity you choose will be very grateful for your hard work and donation.

So as the weather get colder let’s warm our hearts and help those who are in need and have fun while you’re at it!

My Secret To Clear Skin

I used to struggle a lot with breakouts in the past. I was really self-conscious and hated my skin. I tried every product under the sun and nothing seemed to do the trick. My skincare routine went from one step to a hundred steps, and my skin was still bad.

secret to clear skin

Every skin is different and what works for me might not work for you, but if you are struggling with your skin its worth following these simple 3 steps.

Keep your skincare to a minimum. You don’t need 40 steps in your night time routine, your skin doesn’t need all those chemicals and you are just going to irritate your skin.
I only use 3 products (cleanser, oil, treatment) and that’s all I need.
The best cleanser for problematic skin that I have tried, and believe me, I have tried them all is La Roche-Possay Effaclar Cleansing Gel. This product is the best for two reasons: it´s incredibly gentle and it doesn’t leave your face stripped of all moisture. Cleansers for oily or acne prone skin tend to me very harsh. These type of cleansers will make your skin feel dry which will lead to an increase of oil product, and will contribute to the development of spots and acne. The bottle pictured is a travel size, I tend to use the 400ml bottle which has very handy pump.

La Roche-Possay Efflaclar Cleansing gel

Keep your skin hydrated. After cleansing forget about toners, specially ones marketed for oily or acne prone skin, again that will only make your skin feel drier, irritated a react by producing more sebum. Just apply a light moisturiser or face oil. I prefer oils, I know it sounds weird but trust me it’s the best thing for your skin. Oils sink in quicker and are much lighter than moisturisers. My favourite day time oils are the Nude Progenius Rescue Oil and the Sarah Chapman Morning Facial. At night I tend to use either the Kielh´s Midninght Recovery Oil or the Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial. I have reviewed all these oils on my blog if you want to check them out.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Targeted treatment. It is also important to use a product to treat spots and acne. I love using Tea Tree Oil in the morning. This oil has antibacterial properties and it will prevent the spot getting worse and the surrounding area getting affected. At night my favourite product to use is the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, this product is stronger but its amazing. It contains Calamine and Salicylic Acid so it helps reduce the spot by drying it out. Spots are considerably smaller and less noticeable the next day and usually gone within 3 to 4 days.

Trying out Lush body conditioners

Lush Christingle body conditioner

Body conditioners have been around for awhile but I have to admit I have never tried one until recently. Never saw the point to one really.
Last October I went on holiday to Mauritius, I knew I was going to spend long days at the beach so I packed every hydrating product I could find.

Lush Ro´s Argan body conditioner

I decided to buy the Lush Ro´s Argan body conditioner. This product is made with Argan oil, rose oil, brazil nut oil and Goji Berry juice. This body conditioner locks in moisture leaving skin smooth and supple and delicately scented.
As the name would suggest, it works the same as a normal hair conditioner. You just layer up, rinse and pat dry. At first I wasn’t a big fan of the scent purely because I’m into fresh flowery scents and this one is a bit to sweet for me, but I quickly got over that. It works great if like me you want to add extra moisture to your skin or if your simply not a fan of moisturizers but still want to add a layer of hydration to your skin. I think it’s a great product to pop in your gym bag or to use in the mornings when your short of time.

Lush Snow Fairy body conditioner

Next up I decided to give Snow Fairy a go. This scent is a favourite for many Lush fans and I thought it would be a good one to try. This body conditioner contains a cherry infusion, fair trade organic cocoa butter, mango butter and avocado butter. It works exactly the same as the Ro´s Argan body conditioner but I do think it’s not a rich and hydrating. I have to admit I am not a fan on the scent, its too candy floss sweet for me but if you’re into your sweet scents you will definitely love this one. I still have half a tub left, I will finish it up because I really hate throwing out products, but I know I ´wont be repurchasing this one.

Sick of sweet scents and then decided to purchase the Chritingle body conditioner its the complete opposite of the previous two conditioners as it has a strong mint scent. This product contains mummery butter, peppermint oil, fair trade shea butter and grapefruit oil. This product is slightly different to the rest as it slightly tingles a few minutes after you have dressed yourself. This product is as hydrating as the Ro´s Argan one but again, I am not a fan of the scent and don’t think I would repurchase.

Have you tried body conditioners? Which one is your favourite?
