When I first heard about Glamglow and its Hollywood origin I immediately wanted to try it out. I searched google high and low for reviews and the majority were all very positive, I was sold!
Today I wanted to share with you my experience with the Glamglow masks as not everything is as good as it seems.
Glamglow masks retail for about £39.00, which is quite expensive for the 34g a tub contains. Luckily they also do travel size tubs which are more affordable and lets you try out the product before committing to the full size one.
I like the packaging but I do realize that having a face mask in a tub isn’t the most hygienic.
Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate treatment. This is the first mask the brand launched and the one known for its tingly sensation. To be honest, I was expecting the tingling sensation to be more intense.
After drying, the mask becomes an exfoliator once it comes in contact with water. It has tiny micro beads to help exfoliate the skin. I’m not going to lie; I wasn’t very impressed with this face mask. I am not a fan of physical exfoliators and my face felt very tight and dry after.
Glamglow Supermud Clearing treatment. I was most excited about trying this mask. Online reviews indicated you could actually see how it removes the gunk from your pours. I of course needed to try that out for myself. What actually happens is that the mask becomes porous in certain parts of the skin and it may seem like its “doing something” (see embarrassing picture bellow) but to be honest the black heads on my nose are still there. This mask feels very tight once it has completely dried. In a similar way to the Youthmud, it left my skin feeling very dry.
Glamglow Flashmud Brightening Treatment. This mask also contains micro beads. Your meant to apply the product it in circular motion and then leaving it for 20 minutes until the products becomes transparent. Again, I have the issue with manual face scrubs, I’m just not a fan but if you’re into your face scrubs you might enjoy this one. It doesn’t leave your face feeling tight nor dry but I didn’t see my face any brighter after using it.
Glamglow Dualcleanse Treatment. This mask also contains micro beads, I know shocker. After the mask dries it turns into oil when contact with the skin. This mask is also much gentler than the Youthmud and Tinglexfoliate, and doesn’t leave your face feeling dry.
Glamglow Thirstymud hydrating treatment. This is an okay hydrating mask with a nice coconut scent. It feels nice on the skin but in all honesty I think you can get similar products from the high street.
All in all, I am not impressed with the Glamglow masks, I do think they are slightly overpriced based on the results they deliver. But like always this is my opinion and you might absolutely love these masks, that’s the beauty about everybody being different.
Let me know if you have tried these mask and what you think about them.
