Contouring
is a thing that has always been around, but it has become especially popular in
the last couple of years and we can see that brands have picked up on that.
Every brand seems to be coming out with contour powders, contour palettes,
contour sticks, you name it!
Before I go
on I want to say that I am a big fan of natural, fresh looking skin. Especially
when it comes to my everyday makeup. I like my skin to look even, glowy and
fresh. That´s why I love subtle contouring, it can make your face look more chiselled
without making it too obvious.
To achieve
this look and use my dream duo: Kevyn
Aucoin´s Sculpting powder in Light and Sigma´s
Emphasize Contour brush.
I love Kevyn
Aucoin´s sculpting powder for many reasons; Now it comes in 3 different
shades light, medium and deep. Therefore, no matter what your skin colour is
your bound to find a shade that suits you.
The formula
is quite dry, but don’t let that fool you if you have dry skin, it applies very
smoothly and blends like a dream.
It has the
right tone to mimic the look of a natural shadow and it lasts a decent amount
of time.
The
packaging is also adorable, very sleek and classy and perfect to pop in your
bag if you feel like you want a touch-up thought your day.
I have to
admit It is quite pricey, you get 4g for £35, ouch! But it does last for ages!
I have had
mine for at least four months know and I use it on a daily basis and haven’t
even made a dent to it.
If you’re
looking for a beautiful subtle contour to wear to work or to school this little
bad boy is all you´ll need. In my opinion it’s a great investment!
The brush
you use for contouring is equally as important as the contouring product itself.
If you don’t have the right brush you can end up looking like you have dirt streaks
along your face, and unless that´s the look your going for it doesn’t look
great.
I have
tried many brushes, but my favourite one has to be Sigma´s
Emphasize Contour brush. The hairs on the brush are cut in a curved shape
that fits perfectly and comfortably underneath your cheek bones. The bristles
are soft and densely packed making it really easy to blend the contour, and
very importantly its cruelty free!
The brush
is a bit big and heavy ,I do have to admit but it’s the best contouring brush I
have tried so far.
Let me know
what’s your favourite contouring technique?
That brush is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing
