Top 5: Everyday Lipsticks

Lipstick is one of my favourite makeup items, it can instantly change your appearance.

I don’t usually experiment much which shades, I know what suits me and I normally go for similar shades. I’d rather spend a bit more money on a shade that I know I’m going to wear on a daily basis, rather than spending it on brighter colours that I know I would only wear on rare occasions.

After looking at my lipstick collection I have made a roundup of my top 5 “your lips but better shades”. (Just a heads up, these are all high end lipsticks)

Nars Audacious lipstick in Anita. This shade is described as antique rose, its a medium-dark pink with warm undertones. The colour payoff is incredible, with one swipe your done. It has a satin finish, therefor the formula can be sometimes a bit drying. It lasts well trough the day.

Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk. This is Charlotte´s Tilbury´s highest anticipated beauty launch. The shade can be described as a medium pink with brown undertones. The formula is matte and does tend to be a bit dry. It´s not the most long-lasting formula, but the shade is definitely amazing.

YSL Rouge volupte shine 09

YSL Rouge Volupté in Nude in Private 09. This is the sheerest formula of the bunch but also the most hydrating. I love layering this one on top of a drier lipstick, but is also a beautiful shade on its own. It has a thick and creamy consistency that just glides on the lips. This shade is more of a pinky-nude colour, with a lovely glossy finish.

mac brave

Mac Brave. This shade is described as a pink-beige. I would say it’s a medium pink with a slight hint of brown. It comes in Mac´s satin formula which leaves semi-matte finish. This has been a favourite for many year, its probably the lipstick that started this whole “your lips but better” obsession of mine.

Mac Finally Free. This is a limited edition lipstick and I am going to be so sad when I finish it. This lipstick has quickly become one of my favourites because of its lovely shade and formula. This shade is described as mid tone rosey-nude and comes in a cremesheen formula which is probably my favourite Mac formula. This lipstick is deeper in tone but very wearable, its also extremely comfortable to wear and not drying in the slightest.

  11. I think for me, YSL and Chanel are my favorites for designer lipstick. They have a beautiful range.

A lot of products tend to dry my lips out quite a bit and there's that compromise between staying power and dryness. I can definitely tell you love your neutrals <3

I'm the same in terms of shade range, I have one red lipstick and I might wear it sometimes for a special occasion or if I'm feeling a little fancier but all of these shades are right up my street! I must get my hands on that new CT Pillow Talk lipstick! Lovely post :-)
