If like me, you are into the blogging community you
might know that Mac have taken the step and launched their first collaboration
with beauty influencers from around the globe. Mac is widely known for its
collaborations but to this date they have been mainly collaborating with
celebrities and designers. Taking the step to collaborate with influencers I
think it’s a really smart move. Most of us feel more identified with influencers
and trust their opinions a bit more.
Mac has given the opportunity to ten different
influencers from around the world to create their own lipstick shade to launch
in their own countries. Beauty blogger/youtuber Fleur de Force and Glamour UK
beauty editor Alessandra Steinherr have been the lucky two to be chosen to
represent the UK in this global project.

I have to admit I am a huge admirer of Fleur de Force
and I was really excited when I heard she was going to collaborate with Mac, so
of course when the lipsticks launched on the 10th May I knew I had
to buy them.
Mac x Fleur de Force
Fleur´s lipstick can be described as beige nude and it
comes in cremesheen finish.
I have to admit cremesheen is my favourite
lipstick finish from Mac because of its creamy formula and good pigmentation.
The actual shade is a bit too beige for me, its not a shade I would normally
wear but I have to admit that it’s the perfect nude. If your into nude lipstick
you will probably love this one. At the moment I am layering it on top of
Charlotte Tilbury´s lip liner in pillow talk and I love the end result.
Mac x Alessandra Steinherr
Alessandra decided to go for a neutral pink in a lustre finish.
Whilst lustre isn’t my favourite finish I have to admit that Alessandra´s
choice will flatter a wider range of skin tones. The lustre finish has a slight
glossy finish and a sheer pigmentation there for it is much easier to wear. The
actual shade of the lipstick is gorgeous, I think Alessandra did an amazing job
at designing the lipstick.
these are great everyday shades, and agree a collaboration with an in influencer is a smart move by the brands x

these both look like great shades for everyday wear :)

Seems like every brand is doing a collab with an influencer these days. I think both shades are way too light for my skin tone though, shame. :-(
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing that you got the chance to collaborate with them!;-)<3

I really like Fleur too and it is a shame that they won't bring these beautiful lipsticks here (Dubai). I think you will get a ton of use out of them!

I had no idea these guys had done a collab! Love the look of both of these x

Very elegant shades! x

Nude colors always seem such an odd idea to me. When I wear a color, it's because I want it to be seen!

I read about this! Pretty shades, but I knew they wouldn't work for me. Glad they were given the opportunity to come up with their own lipstick.

I wanted the MacxFleur de Force but sadly they've sold out when I went and look for them in the stores. But I did get the one from Alessandra, like you said, its pretty easy to wear! :) Thanks for sharing!!

I love that MAC decided to collaborate with bloggers, it's just a shame that the shades are regionally exclusive! It would be nicer if they were able to release them globally, but what can you do? At least you got to pick up two colours and that you like them. :)

These look so pretty -Hanna Lei
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that MAC were happy with the shaded being so similar, having said that I suppose there is just enough of a difference between them.
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer Alessandra's with the more pink tone to it.
Thanks for reviewing!
Coffee & Avocados
They are such pretty shades! I really hope we get to see more of these kind of collaborations in the future xx

DeleteI love the Mac x Alessandra Steinherr shade--it's neutral but still has those pretty pink undertones that I love in a nude shade. Thanks for sharing!

Great review! I was dying to get my hands on Fleurs lipstick but I didn't realise it was so beige. May go for Alessandras instead X
