This winter has been extremely hard on my skin and especially on my lips. I have been waking up every night with extremely dry uncomfortable lips. I have tried many lips balms this season and I have rounded up the best to share with you.
By Terry Baume De Rose. This lip balm is extremely expensive but very nourishing. The Baume de Rose has been a cult classic product for many years and I felt like a had to test it out myself. This lip balm contains rose flower essential wax, shea butter, vitamin E, SPF 15 and strengthening ceramides that encourage cellular regeneration. It has a subtle sweet rose scent.
I have to say it doesn't have the most hygienic packaging but it does look beautiful on my bedside table. I love this luxurious lip balm but it is definitely not for everyone.
Dior Sugar Lip Scrub. I love this product because its basically two products in one. The bullet contains tiny sugar grains that very effectively exfoliate lips eliminating any dead skin which immediately disappears, leaving your lips amazingly hydrated and with a subtle pink sheen. I have to say this is one of my favourite lip products ever and I have already gone through two. I do know that there are many cheaper alternatives out there, but I just don’t get on with them as they feel very oily and usually need to be rinsed off. The Dior Lip sugar scrub is convenient, effective and looks amazing in your handbag.
The Malin+Goetz Lip Moisturiser looks like a regular lip balm but its so much more than that. This lip moisturiser contains fatty acids that unlike traditional oils and drying waxes and silicones that are often licked off or wiped away, this balm nourishes upon impact while offering a continual layer of hydrating protection throughout the day and night. This is one of the best lip balms and I do love the no-nonsense packaging.
Sarah Chapman Overnight Lip Concentrate. This feels more like a treatment than a lip balm, it can be used both day and night but its definitely better suited for the night as the formula is very similar to a serum or oil, without being slippy or uncomfortable. This conditioning balm has anti-ageing properties containing a retinol-like Vitamin A alternative that rejuvenates and plumps the lip contour and lips. The packaging is also very slick and hygienic.
i have been wanting to try this lip balm for ages. but I have my Orogold one that I have been using for such a long time. Honestly, they take ages to finish, haha Have to try the Terry one soon xx

I've been wanting to try the By Terry balm for ages, but I always hesitate over the price - might have to invest, though!

These are great ideas, I tend to get very dry lips during the winter. Are the more luxury lipbalms really worth it, I'm wondering if I should actually give it a try!

I absolutely LOVE Malin + Goetz skincare! Their Vitamine E moisturiser is also amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnother favourite lip balm of mine is the Dr. Lipp nipple balm - it's a great super thick lip balm for the evenings!

I get horribly dry lips this time of year too, my favourite thing ever is the Clarins Instant Light Comfort Lip Oil. It is literally the best thing to exist for your lips! xx

I've had problems with dry lips for ages now. I think I'm going to try out that Malin + Goetz. Or maybe the Dior. That sounds like a super convenient life saver!

These all look perfect! I tend to get really bad chapped lips in winter and I haven't found a lip balm that helps me much with it, so I will definitely try out these suggestions! Xx

Oh my I am peeling my lips as I type this. Ugh, I aways have chapped lips b/c of chronic allergies. I took a look at the scrub lip balm from Dior and it is pretty decent. I think I may go back to Macy's and get it.

ReplyDeletePractical way to promote brand with modern wall clock.
I’ve tried a sample of the Baum de Rose before and it’s absolutely beautiful, I just haven’t been able to make myself pay that much money for a lip balm, haha. I suppose if you have a lot of trouble with your lips and that one works for you then it might be worth it, plus it takes a long time to work your way through a lip balm so it’ll be around for a while, but I haven’t bitten the bullet just yet!
