Clay Masque: The new answer for oily roots from L´Oreal

I suffer from oily roots and I would love to space out the days between washes.
When I saw that L´Oreal came out with a clay masque for oily roots I was a bit wary but decided I wanted to try it out.

L´OREAL ELVIVE Extraordinary clay masque

This masque contains clay and it is designed to deep clean roots. Many people, myself included, have oily roots but dry ends, and sometimes one product doesn’t tackle both issues at the same time.

This product is only meant to go on the roots of your hair. You apply in onto dry hair, massage it into the scalp and leave it for five minutes to absorb the oil. After those 5 minutes you can rinse the masque off and wash your hair as you normally would.

I have used this clay masque on two occasion, on both I was able to go one more day without washing my hair which is great. I wouldn’t recommend this product for daily use. This product strips your hair from its natural sebum, therefore the oil glands will try to overcompensate that by producing more. I also wouldn’t recommend it if you have sensitive scalp.

The application of the product feels a bit odd, as your applying it to dry hair it doesn’t spread very easily.

My final verdict would be: It´s nice to use once in a while, but I wouldn’t use it frequently.

Let me know if you have used these type of masques before and what do you think.
