When I have freshly manicured nails I instantly
feel happier. Painting your nails takes time and effort (and money if your
getting it done at a salon) so my heart brakes when I get a chip and it has
only been a couple of days since I painted them.
For that reason, I have gotten gel manicures
in the past. I love how long they last and how nice they look, what I don’t like
is the price I have to pay to get them done.
That’s why I was intrigued when gel nail
kits appeared on the market.
I decided to buy the Gel
Starter Kit from Sensationail, specifically for the one that comes with the raspberry wine nails
polish as burgundy nails are a must for me in autumn.
This
kit contains a gel cleanser, gel primer, gel colour, gel base & top coat,
lint-free wipes, a double sided nail buffer, manicure sticks a LED lamp and as
a bonus it also comes with nail shields.
The LED lamp has improved form their
previous version, it now cures the base and top coat in 15 seconds while curing
the gel colour in 30 seconds. It also has an automatic sensor turning on when
it detects that your fingers are inside, it gives you a 15 second warning and it
turns off after 30 seconds. It also comes with a removable plate for pedicures.
The application is quite simple and the kit
comes with a step by step instructions.
The hard part comes when you want to remove
the nail polish as it isn’t as easy as removing normal nails polish.
In order to eliminate gel nail polish you
need to submerge your nails in acetone for 15 minutes and then scrape the
polish off. If you’re not careful you can really damage your nails.
After 3 weeks |
Sensationail claims to last up to 2 weeks
of damage proof wear. I started to see small chips after a week, straight after
I had a bath and washed my hair. The chips weren’t extremely visible but I know
they were there.
All in all, I am happy with the Sensationail Gel kit I have bought an extra nail polish and I´m considering buying their
polish to gel transformer. The Gel transformer lets you turn any nail polish
into a gel polish. Not sure how well that will work but I´ll keep you posted!
What a cool kit! Thanks for sharing x

DeleteI've never tried a gel manicure but I'd much rather do something like this than pay $50+ dollars for one!

I love pretty looking nails too, I have seen this gel set in boots on offer wasn't sure how well it works or if I would be able to use it as a novice.
ReplyDeleteBut it sounds amazing. Plus I do agree with you salon visits do add up.
It´s really simple to use and it´s a great and cheaper alternative to getting them done at the salon.

Sounds quite good, shame it didn't last the full two weeks. I love the colour of the polish.

Yeah, I wasn't very impressed by that. Yesterday I tried a different nails polish, lets see if this one lasts longer.

I also love having my nails done, pity it did not last 2 weeks but I think all in all it sounds like a good gel :) xx

This kit sounds amazing, I wish it lasted longer than a week and nails didn't chip easily but well, nail polish lasts two days on my nails which is terrible!!
