My Monica Vinader obsession

My obsession with Monica Vinader jewellery began when I first laid my eyes on the Riva diamond hoop ring. I just thought it was so dainty and different and so me. My obsession for the brand grew and bit by bit I have been growing my collection.

Monica Vinader Jewellery

For those of you that don’t know, Monica Vinader is a British jewellery brand that stands out for her unique and individual designs. Many of the pieces can be personalised by engraving and most of the pieces are stackable to show your individual style.

You can find great Monica Vinader Discount codes by clicking the link

All the pieces in my collection are 18ct rose gold vermeil on sterling silver.

The Riva diamond hoop ring contains pave set diamonds, its unique design makes it look casual and very wearable. The band in quite thin and it just adds to its individuality. This has to be my favourite piece of the collection.

The Riva diamond wave staking ring is also very unique, it also contains diamond pave and the designs stands out as different and unique

The Alma studded earrings are also a unique piece. I am really into dainty small studs at the moment and these are just perfect. I also love their teardrop shape, it makes a nice refreshing change to normal round earring studs.

The two linear stone bracelets are the latest edition to my collection.
They look beautiful worn alone or stacked together. The dark purple stone is amethyst and the light violet stone is blue lace Agate. I love how well they complement each other and I think it will look even better on darker skin tones as the stones would stand out more, I can´t wait to get a tan!

My most precious piece in the collection is the diamond alphabet pendant as it was gifted to me by a very dear family member that is no longer with us. I love how delicate and dainty this piece is, I love pairing it with a small thin chain and the Ziggi mini petal pendant.

New: Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette

Most of you are well aware that hourglass is well known for their powder products and rightfully so. Their formula is very finely milled, meaning it will never leave your skin feeling powdery and their multidimensional pigments add a sort of soft focus effect to the skin leaving in slightly glowy but never glittery.

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette

Their blush formula is no exception. As they usually do every spring, hourglass has launched a limited edition blush palette. This year they have come up with the ambient strobe lighting blush palette. Which basically combines their strobe formula with blush pigments.

The blushes dramatically brighten your face and leave your skin looking very natural and luminous. They are a good option if you like luminous and glowy looking blushes but aren’t a fan of liquid blushes.

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette

I am a big fan of Hourglass as you can tell and do recommend this product is you’re a blush lover. I do feel like this blush blush formula is more pigmented than the rest I have tried, so its advised to apply it issuing a light hand.

Mother´s Day Gift Guide

In the UK we are celebrating mother´s day on Sunday 26th March. Mothers tend to be quite selfless and put their children first. Its always nice to give back and show your mother how much you care.

I wanted to put together a last minute gift guide, just in case someone is in need of some inspiration.

gift guide

The Omorovisca 5 Piece Cult Discovery Kit. I love gifting discovering kits as you tend to get quite a lot for your money and it looks really nice. I haven’t tried much from this brand but I know some people swear by it. I think it’s a great discovery kit and reasonably priced, taking into account this is a high end brand. Plus, the little toiletry bag is blush pink, and if you have seen my last post you will know I am completely obsessed.

Olivia Burton´s Wonderland leather strap watch. I currently have my eye on this watch and have for a while. I just think its a very classic style with a modern twist, I’m obsessed with it and I think it would be a wonderful addition to anyone’s watch collection.

The Therapie Joie bath infusion. Again this is another product I haven’t yet tried but is well loved by many. Apparently this is a good nights sleep in a jar, I’m sure most mothers would love this.

gift guide

Yu Ling Roller, Jade Facial Roller. This is a lovely tool to give as a gift. This seems like the perfect little tool for facial massages. It´s definitely on my wishlist.

Jo Malone Diffuser in English Pear and Freesia. I had to add this one of my mum´s favourite. These diffusers are really expensive but their scent really does fill the room, the also last quite well.

Fuji Green tea bath tea. This is one of my favourite bath salts ever. I love how it smells and how relaxed I feel after taking a bath. Its also very reasonably priced as most of The Body Shop products tend to be

Landon Tyler. These candles seem to be everywhere at the moment. I haven’t tried any yet but will do soon. They are very reasonable priced and you can get them o offer in Boots.

This is another product that I still haven’t tried but would love too. I just looks like a lovely indulgent gift than.

Foreo Luna Mini 2. I have talked about the Foreo cleansing device in many occasions, see review here. It´s a total game changer, my skin has never been better. It´s pricey but a definite investment.

10 Emma Hardy Moringa Cleasing Balm. This is one of my favourite cleansing balms, it melts the makeup off your face. It also doubles as an antiaging mask.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend regardless is you celebrate Mothers Day or not.

My marble and blush obsession

Lately I keep getting drawn to everything marble and blush. Its not normal but it makes me happy and that’s all that really matters right?

Marble phone case caseapp

I have been slowly including a few marble and blush pink pieces to my home, a marble trinket dish here a blush pink cushion there, I just love the airy spring-like feeling it gives.
I also wanted to change up my laptop case as I´ve had my current one for a couple of years now and I just wasn’t feeling a rainbow coloured case anymore.

Marble laptop skin

I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to get a case this time, I just feel it adds weigh to the laptop which isn’t necessary, so I though about getting a laptop skin instead or like the French would say, a new “coque personnalisée”. I found this amazing laptop skin in caseapp and instantly fell in love.

The great thing about this website is that it gives you different possibilities. You can either upload an image of your choice, i.e. a picture of your pet, or you can use their designs and customise them if you want.

With my Macbook Air skin I used a design from caseapp and just added a quote to it. I couldn’t be happier with the end result. I mean, I’m so smitten with it I even got a matching iPhone case, this isn’t weird at all right?

 marble phone case

With my iPhone case I used the same design and just added my initials, its marble, its blush and customised, I’m obsessed!

It also makes a lovely thoughtful gift. Mother´s day is next Sunday, hint hint…

Glamour Beauty Festival

Glamour magazine hosted its second beauty theme park and it was incredible!

The Glamour Beauty Festival 2017
Glamour got together various makeup and skincare brands in London´s Saatchi Gallery and created the most amazing, pampering and fun experience I have ever been to.

As soon as you walk into the Saatchi Gallery you were greeted by the Fiat pool party. In there you could star in your own Glamour cover shoot, doesn’t it sound amazing!

The Glamour Beauty Festival 2017

The event was divided into different Zones.

You had the skincare zone with brans like Elizabeth Arden offering a complementary skin consultations and bespoke oxygen blasts. Fresh offered a mask treatment, were you could choose between clarifying, brightening, moisturising and firming. The skincare zone also included other brands like Pixi and Caudalie.

The Glamour Beauty Festival 2017

The hair zone was hosted by Redken, GHD and OGX. You could style your hair in any off the bars these three brands. I opted for the OGX bar simply because the queue was slightly smaller but all three brands were offering amazing hairstyles.

The Glamour Beauty Festival 2017

In the Nail Zone you could find brands like Nails Inc, Elegant touch and Cheeky nails. There you could enjoy a complementary express manicure. Nails Inc. was also introducing their new collection, which is amazing by the way.

The makeup zone was equally as exciting with brands like Eylure, Marc Jacobs, Laura Mercier, Nars and High Definition brows. I honestly didn’t know were to start.
Marc Jacobs was doing eyes, offering a glam statement eye, whilst Eylure had a team of experts applying eyelashes from their lux range. With Laura Mercier you could learn how to get the perfect dewy base. Nars had a lip bar were you could choose between lip contouring or pop of colour. And High Definition Brows were doing everything from waxing, threading, tinting and trimming.

But that’s not all, ticket holders also received a goodie bag worth £190.

Makeup Bag Essentials

My makeup is normally stored in drawers or on a display on top of my dressing table. I only really use makeup bags when traveling, but I do keep a small makeup bag in my purse for my everyday touch-up essentials.

makeup bag staples

Today I wanted to share with you the products that get me through the day

Lipstick: I normally have 5 lipsticks that I regularly alternate in my makeup bag. They are all very similar in shade, if you want to see my top 5 favourite lipsticks click here. Today I have the Charlotte Tilbury MATTE Revolution lipstick in Pillow Talk. This is a great “your lips but better” shade. I´m currently obsessing over it. I also love to use the Clarins Instant Light Perfector in the shade 07  in the early afternoon. After wearing lipstick for several hours my lips normally tend to dry up, that’s when I use my trusty Lip Perfector, it not only hydrates my lips but it also looks incredible layered on top of fading lipstick.

Lip Liner: My one and only is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, its by far my favourite lip liner. I´m not going to go on about it much longer as I feel I have spoken many times about it, its perfect!

Blotting sheets: I do tend to get quite shiny during the day and I usually use these blotting sheets by NYX. They´re quite good, they don’t have the best packaging but they are very affordable and get the job done.

Powder: After blotting I like to apply a bit of powder, I always use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Difussed Light. I love this powder as it doesn’t leave you with a matte flat finish, its very luminous and leaves your skin looking full of life.

Highlighter: I sometimes like to add a bit of highlighter if I feel that my skin is looking a bit dull and tired. Benefit makes the best mini highlighters, I like using High Beam and Sun Beam.

Let me know what products make it into your makeup bag staples.

High End Beauty Haul

Yes, I have absolute no self control. I keep telling myself I need to stop buying makeup as I have far too much but I just don’t listen.

I will be on a makeup no buy at least until May. I will make it my goal for the next two months, but until then, I will enjoy and try out all the new products I have bought.

I am a huge fan of the Dior Diorskin Forever Foundation (reviewed here). Its one of my favourite foundations at the moment. When I found out that Dior came out with the cushion version of the foundation I decided I needed to try it out. I have only used the Dior Forever Cushion foundation twice so I don’t have a fully formed opinion yet, but I will definitely be reviewing this foundation in the next weeks.

The Dior Addict Lip Sugar scrub is definitely a princess product. There is no need to spend £24.00 for a lip scrub as they are really easy to make at home, but this one is so convenient. The sugar particles quickly dissolve on contact with the lips and leaves a nice pink sheen. I love this product as there is no need to wipe down the excess sugar or anything and it leaves the lips hydrated a prepped for lipstick. I’m totally in love.

Dior addict lip sugar scrub

I loved the lip scrub so much that I needed to try the Dior Addict Lip Glow. I chose the berry shade from the Spring 2017 collection because I am a sucker for anything that´s limited edition. This lip glow is as hydrating as the scrub. I love to use it when my lips are dry but I still want to have a bit of colour.

I am such a sucker for Hourglass products, every time they come out with a limited edition palette I instantly feel the need to get my hands on it. I was trying to convince myself that I didn’t need another blush palette, but as I said in the beginning of the post, I don’t have self control. So here it is the new Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette. It’s lovely but I do feel a bit guilty for buying another palette, so much so that its been with me for a week and I still haven’t even switched it, which is absolutely ridiculous I know.

The Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara was a re-buy. This must be the fourth time I purchase this mascara. Its definitely my favourite, it does it all: length, separation and a lots of volume. Love it!

I´ve always wanted to buy a Jo Malone candle and I finally did. I opted for the Peony and blush suede sent and I love it. It doesn’t release the scent until the wax melts but once it does the lovely scent fill the room. It has notes of red apple, peony and suede. I do burn it sparingly but that just makes it feel even more special.

Top 5: Everyday Lipsticks

Lipstick is one of my favourite makeup items, it can instantly change your appearance.

I don’t usually experiment much which shades, I know what suits me and I normally go for similar shades. I’d rather spend a bit more money on a shade that I know I’m going to wear on a daily basis, rather than spending it on brighter colours that I know I would only wear on rare occasions.

After looking at my lipstick collection I have made a roundup of my top 5 “your lips but better shades”. (Just a heads up, these are all high end lipsticks)

Nars Audacious lipstick in Anita. This shade is described as antique rose, its a medium-dark pink with warm undertones. The colour payoff is incredible, with one swipe your done. It has a satin finish, therefor the formula can be sometimes a bit drying. It lasts well trough the day.

Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk. This is Charlotte´s Tilbury´s highest anticipated beauty launch. The shade can be described as a medium pink with brown undertones. The formula is matte and does tend to be a bit dry. It´s not the most long-lasting formula, but the shade is definitely amazing.

YSL Rouge volupte shine 09

YSL Rouge Volupté in Nude in Private 09. This is the sheerest formula of the bunch but also the most hydrating. I love layering this one on top of a drier lipstick, but is also a beautiful shade on its own. It has a thick and creamy consistency that just glides on the lips. This shade is more of a pinky-nude colour, with a lovely glossy finish.

mac brave

Mac Brave. This shade is described as a pink-beige. I would say it’s a medium pink with a slight hint of brown. It comes in Mac´s satin formula which leaves semi-matte finish. This has been a favourite for many year, its probably the lipstick that started this whole “your lips but better” obsession of mine.

Mac Finally Free. This is a limited edition lipstick and I am going to be so sad when I finish it. This lipstick has quickly become one of my favourites because of its lovely shade and formula. This shade is described as mid tone rosey-nude and comes in a cremesheen formula which is probably my favourite Mac formula. This lipstick is deeper in tone but very wearable, its also extremely comfortable to wear and not drying in the slightest.
