For the past 6 months or so I have been
finding it harder to get a good night’s sleep.
When I go to bed I’m absolutely exhausted
but some days I find it nearly impossible to fall asleep. Difficulty sleeping
is very common and affects a high percentage on women at some point of their
lives.
For that reason, I would like to share with
you little tips that I have found that aid a good night’s sleep.
1. Take a warm bath: Warm baths are
incredibly relaxing but taking them before bed instantly makes me sleepy. When
taking a bath, I normally put some relaxing bath salts or bath bombs in, but
you can use what ever you like. Here I have the Tisty Tosty bath bomb from Lush.
I love its lavender and rose scent and the way it fills the water with real
rose buds.
2. Lavender pillow spray: In the beginning I
thought this was just a gimmick but it really does work. I normally use This
Works Sleep Plus Pillow spray and
lightly spray it onto the bed linen 10 minutes before I go to bed. But don’t go
overboard, I once sprayed a little too much and couldn’t get over the strong
scent of lavender and ended up changing the bedding.
3. No tech, read instead: The glare from a
phone or laptop screen prevents
your brain from releasing the hormone melatonin, which is the way your body
knows it´s time to sleep. Therefore, checking your phone before going to sleep
won´t help you if you're having trouble falling asleep. I know it can be hard, but
it does make a big difference. Why not try to read a book instead? I have
recently bought The
little book of Hygge and keep it by my bedside table, that way I remind
myself to leave the phone alone and to pick up a book instead.
4. Drink tea: Drinking
herbal tea before going to sleep can also aid restful sleep. There are so many different herbal teas you can buy. I always try to buy the ones that contain Valerian,
as it is one of the few herbs which have actually been found by researchers to
have sedative properties.
5. Light a candle: Candles instantly make a room feel cosier and make me fell more relaxed. I love
The
White Company´s White Lavender candle
as it lightly fills the room with a subtle lavender scent that helps me
unwind.
6. Eye mask and ear
plugs: Eye masks are an absolute must for me. I need the room to be pitch black
in order to sleep. That´s why I can´t go a night without using an eye mask. Ear
plugs can also help as they block out noise and ease relaxation.
7. Have a snuggle buddy
(optional): I know some people hate it when their pets get on their bed but I
am the complete opposite. I love snuggling up with my cat, I find that it makes
me feel happy and more relaxed.
Hope you can find my
tips useful. Comment bellow and tell me your personal tips for a good night’s
rest.
Need to try a lavender pillow spray, nice tips.

DeleteI'm so bummed that I'm allergic to lavender pillow sprays, my skin is so incredibly sensitive! I do love the look and sound of that bath bomb from Lush! I had seen it before, but I didn't know that the rose petals are actually noticeable in the water, I'll have to try it! Thanks for sharing, girlie, and I hope you have a great week ahead!

I have such a hard time with sleeping too, not insomniac status, but getting close. I love candles in my bedroom when I sleep and I really gotta try that lavender spray. It sounds like a godsend!

It´s not a miracle worker, it won't send you instantly to sleep but it does help you relax and therefore helps you sleep.

I suffer from chronic insomnia for many years and recently bought a Himalayan salt lamp to try help my sleeping problems. Not sure if it'll work but I hope it'll help a little. I also plan to invest in a disfusser and hopefully essential oils will also help with my sleeping problem.

I absolutely LOVE lavender to get myself ready for bed. It's a must-have scent now. Though I use a diffuser rather than a lavender pillow spray. The pillow spray would be lovely though.
ReplyDeleteA nice warm bath never fails to relax you either.

I definitely could use some help in this area as I have a hard time falling asleep at times! It's really bad because I do use tech until i fall asleep sometimes which probably severely impacts my sleep overall. I need to start reading an actual book before bed instead. Thanks for the tips babe!

Such a fan of all of these tips and I have done each of these at at least sometime in my life, but they really are perfect in combination with each other. Really have to learn to not have my phone with me when I hop into bed!
