Using hair driers, straighteners, curling tongs, balayage,
highlights all this contributes to dry hair and therefore hair breakage.
I must have been around fifteen when I first started highlighting my
hair. I would also use my hair straighteners on a daily basis and let me tell
you my ends were so dry they looked like straw.
With time I learned how to keep damage and breakage to a minimum and
thought I would share with you my holly grail products to prevent dry hair.
Kérastase
Nutritive Masque Magistral. This hair
mask is incredible for dry ends, I found that it really made a difference to
state of my hair when I started using it every time I washed my hair. Hair masks
can be a pain as I hate waiting 5 minutes for it to work its magic but I assure
you it is worth it. It leaves your hair nourished, soft and smelling incredible
without weighing your hair down.
Morrocan
Oil. This is a cult classic and rightfully so, I have tried many hair oils
but I haven’t found one that I like more than this one. The one pictured above
is the light version of the classic oil. Its best used for thin or light
coloured hair. I sometimes use it on wet hair or dry hair after styling and it
just makes your hair shine and soft.
Olaplex
No 3 is a mini miracle in a bottle. This product works to mend
the structure of the hair by knitting the bonds in your hair back together,
meaning that after one treatment, your frazzled ends will be left looking much healthier.
Your hair will also feel softer, shinier and easier to manage.
Kérastase
Resistance Ciment Thermique Resurfacing Reinforcing Milk. This
product is amazing at minimising split ends, if you use a lot of heat it your
hair you need this product in your life. It protects weakened,
damaged hair from the aggressions of blow-dry and makes hair easier to style. It’s
a must if you heat style your hair.
These sound like good products. I'll have to try them out.

One of my goals for next year is to take better care of my hair, since it's always very dry and frizzy and I'm an utter noob when it comes to hair routines (all I do is the occasional coconut oil thing). Loved this post and have already written the names of the products down to add to my xmas wishlist! haha

I've heard so much about Olaplex lately and everyone says that it's amazing. I have fairly healthy hair because I don't heat style it all that often, and I dye it darker rather than lighter, but it still could be worthwhile. I also love using a hair mask, although it's a pain to wait around in the shower I usually use that time to shave my legs and whatever else and will wash it out when I'm ready even if it hasn't been 5 mins.

olaplex does seem like a miracle in a bottle! i've seen guy tang use it a lot on his clients and i always thought it was one of those things you could only get with a license - i guess not?!

There are 3 types of Olaplex treatments if I am not mistaken. The first two are salon only as I think it gets mixed with the hair dye. The one in the picture is the at home treatment.
DeleteI have heard great things about Olaplex, and I currently want to dye my hair to a very pale blonde, which means that with Olaplex my hair would be in much better shape than if I didn't use it. I haven't heard of several of these other products though, but I'd definitely be willing to give them a go!

I have dry ends but oily roots so trying to find something that doesn't set the other off is a task in itself! I used to use that Kerastase masque and I don't know why I stopped. It was amazing on my hair. I started using O&M's The Power Base and loving it too. The smell though is divine!
