Summer is always an exciting
time of year, the weather is nicer, the days are longer and I often feel more
energized and motivated. Now, summer as a working girl and a former student
isn’t what is used to be. There are no long months with no schedule or responsibility
were you can just enjoy life and let your worries disappear, but we have to
learn to be happy with what we have and try to make the most of it.
I
have made a list of things I would love to do this summer
Spend long lazy days on the beach
I’m
very fortunate to have parents with a lovely house near the beach in a small
village in the north-west of Spain. This year I will be flying out twice and I
will make it my mission to spend as much time in the beach as possible. I just
find it so relaxing and when I leave I always feel more energised.
Read as many books as I can
I
do read on a daily basis going to and from work, but I only read in the tube
and I find it quite restraining. I want to spend lazy days in the beach or in
the park or maybe just in the sofa were I can spend hours lost in a good book.
Keep up with Pilates
I
have recently started going to Pilates classes on a weekly basis and the more I
go the more motivated I am to keep going. I just love the feeling I get after a
class finishes and I also love that it’s not too strenuous that it leaves me
out of breath but it does work your whole body and it really helps you
strengthen it. But with summer holidays I am afraid that I will just get lazy,
fall out of routine and stop going to classes. I will try as hard as I can to
avoid that, let’s hope I can achieve it.
Get out more
I
love being at home, I just do. If I could work from home I would, I just enjoy
spending time at home with my cat and sometimes I do struggle to get out of the
house to do anything that I am not obligated to do. This summer I want to try
and enjoy the outdoors a bit more, visit parks or forest I haven’t been to
before, go on long walks, try different rooftop bars… you get the point.
Wear all the summer dresses
I have
always been very body conscious. I never wanted to show my arms or legs as I
thought they were too fat. I still feel like my legs and arms are a bit chubby
but this summer I wont let that determine what type of clothes I am going to
wear. I have bought lots of summer dresses and I intend on wearing them all as
often as I can. They look cute, fun and most importantly they keep me cool.
Life is too short to worry about silly things, let go of your silly fears and
just enjoy yourself.
Oh that sounds like you have a good summer ahead dear! I really want to wear all my summer dresses too - no matter how long I already have them in my wardrobe :)

I love this list so much, and good luck for completing them! I'd love to have a home close to the beach!xx

I always set myself a massive reading goal in the Summer but fail miserably! It's probably got to do with the fact that Summer here is sweaty and BRUTAL and I'd rather be in the ocean. I'm much more of an Autumn/Winter reader - set up on the couch under a pile of blankets, with a steaming mug of tea in hand... oh and I've always wanted to try Pilates! I love the idea of getting a good workout without sweating too much.
