Best in Beauty 2017

Best beauty products 2017

You have made it through the first week of the year, congratulations!
I thought now was the perfect opportunity to go through my makeup collection and share with you my favourite beauty products of 2017. All of these products are absolute staples for me and have been repurchased several times.

MarcJacobs Velvet Noir Mascara. It isn’t the first time I talk about this mascara in SL, it’s the only mascara I wear as it makes my lashes look incredible. It gives volume and length without clumping and that is something quite difficult to achieve. I even purchase mini sizes of the mascara when I go on holiday.

CharlotteTilbury Instant Eye Palette. This palette only launched in October (I bought it in the pre-sale) and since then it has become the only palette I ever use. I have said many times before that the eye shadows from CT are my favourite. The formula is spot on, not to chalky or powdery with amazing pigmentation and staying power. The great thing about this palette, aside from the packaging, is the amazing selection of shades. You practically have a shadow collection for each occasion making it super versatile. If you only want one eyeshadow palette this is the one to have.

CharlotteTilbury lip cheat in pillow talk. I don’t even know how many of these I have gone through. Its just the perfect shade if you like wearing nude, mauve or pink lipsticks. It also helps the lipstick last longer, I am never without it.

The Glossier Boy Brow is one of the best brow gels out there. I don’t have sparse eyebrows and I’m quite happy with their natural shape therefore the brow boy is perfect for me as it adds a bit of colour and keeps my hairs in place. The reason why this product stands out from the rest is because its formula is more like a pomade than a gel, it doesn’t leave your brows feeling crispy but keeps them in place.

2017 was the year I discovered cushion products and totally fell in love with them. I have tried many, but the two that stood out were the ChanelLes Beiges Healthy Glow Touch foundation and the Lancome Cushion BlushSubtil.

Chanel les beiges healthy glow touch foundation

The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Touch foundation is an absolute staple, it’s the only foundation I wear. It’s a foundation that actually looks like skin but slightly better. It doesn’t cake, or sit on top of the skin. It blends like a dream leaving a subtle glow and leaving your face feeling great. If your into light to medium coverage foundations, I could not recommend this one enough.

Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil in 032 splash corail. I like my blush to look natural and this is the best one I have found. It’s the perfect shade for my skin tone and it actually lasts longer than powder blushes.

I have to say I have the worst dark circles in the world it doesn’t matter how much I sleep or how much water I drink they are always there. To this day I still haven’t found a concealer or corrector that can hide them. But the best one I have tried is definitely the Bobbi Brown corrector in light to medium bisque. It has amazing coverage and when used with a beauty sponge does not cake.

Best skincare discovery of the year has to be Sarah Chapman, I still haven’t tried a product from the range that I haven’t liked. If I had to choose a single product that would be the SkinesisOvernight Facial, it doesn’t have the best smell but you get used to it in the end. I love how nice my skin feels the morning after, hate how pricey it is thought.

Best lipstick has to go to the NarsAudatious lipstick in Anita, purely based on the fact that I love how it looks whenever I see pictures of myself wearing it. Its not the most long lasting lipstick but the shade is so nice that I don’t mind reapplying.

And to end this incredibly long post I wanted to mention the YSLBlack Opium perfume as my favourite perfume of 2017. I have to say I am particularly weird when it comes to perfumes, I hate most of them. Love how they smell on others but hate when their on me. When I find a perfume I love I am absolutely faithful to it. The last perfume I used I had been using for a bit under 10 years exclusively.

  10. I love the look of that Charlotte Tilbury palette but couldn't make up my mind and because it's limited edition, naturally I'm sure it's probably all gone now. And I agree with you on the Bobbi Brown corrector! There aren't really any other correctors on the market that appeal to me aside from that one, and although I don't use it every day I think it's a great product and there's a reason it's been in Bobbi Brown's line for so long.
